Description

The greatest thing about a family is that you'll always have the knowledge that at least someone truly cares about you, whether through blood or friendship.

For Equestria Daily's ATG, 2017, Day XIII. I neglected to draw anything yesterday, so I hope this somewhat makes up for it, but I feel good about this one. I felt like my style was degrading for a bit, so I decided to brush up on some of the basics again, and it seems to have pulled me back onto the straight and narrow. What do you guys think?

Saw you asking for a critique in Reddit, so I'd say you're good in anatomy, for the most part. Posing is nice and certainly captures a scene of intense face snuggling!

what I'd say you could work on is trying to keep front hooves/leggy bits the same size and length as standey other hooves. Legs and stuff do change shape as the move, and things stretch/roll? Up, but they don't change entire sizes completely.

Also, I'd say you could start trying to shade your pieces and add texture. To me, it seems rather bland since everything is smooth. If you look at say... hair, it's not just one big blob of stuff. It has highlights, shadows, form, texture, etc all in one!
id say if you want to start small, try cell shading first with absolutely no other pencil marks other then of course like outlines and stuff.
